Because what is advertised is usually only part of it. The initial amount almost always includes additional costs:
- The official fees from the DGT (theoretical and practical exam).
- Registration and materials.
- Each practical lesson, which is paid separately and is where the bill increases the most.
Not everything, but some things. Normally you pay again the exam fee from the DGT and, almost certainly, more practical lessons to be better prepared for the next attempt. What you already passed (the theory) has a temporary validity, so you don't lose it immediately. Even so, each extra sitting costs money, which is why it's advisable not to take it before you're ready.
Yes. The approved theory test is yours and remains valid for a period of time even if you change driving schools; you just need to transfer the file. A cheap driving school where almost everyone fails the first time ends up being expensive, because you pay for extra exams and lessons. Cross-reference both data points: the goal isn't the cheapest lesson, but passing sooner and spending less overall.
